He's finally here! Baby Leo Carter Monk arrived (ahead of schedule) on Sunday 29th April at 11:24 pm weighing 6 lbs. It was a bit of a shock when my waters broke in the early hours of Sunday morning. Both of us expected him to arrive late and had bets that I would give birth around the early May Bank Holiday weekend, but that's baby's for you - always full of surprises!
We've had 2 and a half weeks with this little nugget and are slowly getting used to life as a family of 3! These days we take it really slow. I spend most of my time on the sofa breastfeeding, eating gluten-free chocolate brownies and watching repeats of Four In A Bed on TV. I'm trying to celebrate the small victories like getting dressed, making it out of the house and doing some laundry. Today was the first day I managed to get my laptop out and do some photo editing during nap time. Life is slow and that's just the way it should be just now.
There's so much I could share about becoming a mum, the highs and lows of the first 2 weeks postpartum etc. but for now, I just wanted to share the news here before the moment passes. Days are slow, but time flies by so quickly between the constant nappy changes, feeds and cuddles. I want to bottle up these moments and keep them forever!
