I've decided to start a 52 Project because I'd love to document life with baby Monk when he arrives and also because I want to improve my photography skills. I'm hoping that by setting-up the habit now it will be easier with all the chaos of having a newborn to keep it up!
We hibernated for most of our Christmas break and barely left the house! I managed to take this quick snap in auto of our Christmas tree using my new camera (Canon 5D MkII) which was a joint birthday and Christmas present from Steve. I've wanted a full-frame camera for ages and it definitely feels like a step up for my photography. I must admit thought, I'm a bit daunted by using my new camera at the moment as I've become so used to my Canon EOS-M. Hoping the 52 project will help me get to grips with my 5D and I'd love to learn some new Lightroom editing techniques too!
24 weeks pregnant and struggling with constant hot flushes. Heading out into the cold for fresh air and natural light is what's saving me at the moment. We had a quick walk around Williamson Park before the light faded and stopped for a soya latte at the cafe. Slow Sunday's like these are my favourite.
Laura and James came to visit and I took them to Williamson Park for a mini Engagement shoot. These two are adorable and I can't wait to attend their wedding next year as a family of 3! I shot with both my EOS-M and 5D MkII to get some practice using my new camera and to have both my prime lenses on hand. I need to work on focusing with my new camera (there are so many extra settings that weren't on the EOS-M that I need to familiarise myself with). I still need to edit the photos from the shoot, but thought I'd share a cheeky sneak peek here for my week 3 photo!
Steve's Dad came to visit us this weekend so we headed into Lancaster for a posh coffee at Starbucks. I love the coconut lattes at Starbucks and the trendy mugs they serve them in too! I didn't manage to get out and about with my proper cameras, but managed to get this shot upstairs in Starbucks by the windows. Finding the natural light is always best and I don't think it's too bad for a phone pic!
After two weekend's with visitors and busy days at work, I'm pretty tired. From February, I'm going to be working 4 days a week, with Fridays at home. I usually hang out in our little box room working on my blog and photography. The sun sets on this side of the house and I love looking out onto our little crescent. This was taken on my phone. There's something about photos of windows that I like...
