Sometimes you’re given a gift in life and you have to grab hold of it with both hands. This is what it felt like to capture the Broomby family on their autumn family documentary session. Beth, Oscar and Esme were such a joy to spend time with, it just didn’t feel like work at all. I spent a beautiful morning with them at their rustic Kendal cottage back in October. Dusting off the cobwebs on my camera after having Leo, I was welcomed into their home for mugs of steaming hot tea, chats and puppy fun.
Once the tutus were on and the mugs empty, we wrapped up in our jackets and woollies and headed out with the dogs for a walk in the woods. Oscar lead the way, followed by Esme, Beth and myself. We wandered around the woods and the quaint backstreets of Kendal, stopping every now and then so I could capture the moment or change my camera settings. It was a beautiful morning and it bought me such joy to photograph this fun-loving family.
If you’re interested in a family documentary session I’d so love to hear from you. I don’t do posed shots or funny outfits, it’s just honest photography capturing beautiful moments of you and your loved ones in your own home. If that sounds like your kind of photo-shoot then send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let’s arrange a date!
