It's been back to work this week after a little Easter break to recharge the batteries. I've been taking it a little easier on myself lately, trying to listen to my body telling me what it needs; sometimes that's a marathon of Dinner Date on the couch, other times, it's ticking-off my 'to-do list' like there's no tomorrow. So far, this seems to be working and I'm really pleased with the progress I've made on a few projects.
So, here's what's been getting me through my first week back at work...
With the start of a new financial year, I've been wanting to have a more organised approach to my finances, so over the Easter break I downloaded the Wallet app for my phone and it's really helped to keep track of my day-to-day spending. You can set budgets, shopping lists, record income and it also sends an email summary at the end of the month. I'm still getting used to using it, but once I've established it as a daily habit, I'm going to find something similar for my business accounts.
My skin has been particularly hormonal recently, so discovering that Lisa Eldridge has a video all about the PMS Face has been a life-saver! I'm a big fan of Lisa Eldridge and repeatedly come back to her when researching a make-up look for my latest styling shoot.
After spring-cleaning our kitchen, I've been experimenting with my slow cooker recently. I know I should really be looking at spring salads and seasonal eats, but somehow, it's just not quite warm enough yet in little Lancaster. This slow-cooker curry has fed me over 3 days this week!
With all the changes (*fear*) on Instagram lately, I thought I'd try something a little different for April, so this month I've been following Julie Harris's #Instabrandchallege. I'm hoping that this will not only help to shake-up how I use Instagram, but will also perhaps give me some more insights into the Morganna Designs brand and how I can use this more in my online content. So far, it's helped me to use the camera on my phone more and to be more spontaneous with what I shoot. If would be great to have some company on the challenge if you feel like joining me?
Last Sunday, having been hooked by the Night Manager, I gave BBC One's new Drama Undercover a go and I can't say I'm hooked just yet. I'm going to persevere as I like to relax on a Sunday evening before the start of a new week. I've also watched the first episode of Marcella and was much more impressed by this Drama written by Hans Rosenfeldt who also wrote the Danish-Swedish series The Bridge (*one to add to my wishlist*). So that's my Sunday and Monday nights sorted!
A few finds for the week ahead...
- These Greek-style parsnip fries look like a yummy alternative to chips!
- These 10 essential steps for the best pamper night sounds like the perfect plan for a Sunday night!
- The Making Time Capsules course is on my *Wishlist* especially after seeing Laura's beautiful films.
So that's me. How are you getting on? xox
